Work on Chowa to Riyan Wali Road resumed after 2 years with intervention of DC Rajouri

THANNAMANDI: In a significant development, the long-stalled construction of the Chowa to Riyan Wali road, a crucial project under the NABARD scheme, has been resumed after a two-year hiatus.

The breakthrough came after the intervention of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, who directed Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Thannamandi, Abid Hussain Shah to ensure the swift resolution of issues and restart the project without further delay.

Responding to the DC’s directives, SDM visited the site personally, accompanied by Tehsildar Thannamandi Mazhar Ali Shah, SHO Thannamandi Hilal Azhar, XEN PWD and field staff from the Revenue Department. The team resolved the disputes that had impeded the project’s progress and coordinated efforts to facilitate the smooth resumption of the construction work.

SDM emphasized the importance of the project, saying “The road is a lifeline for the region, and its completion is a top priority for the administration. We have worked tirelessly to resolve the obstacles that hindered its progress. Today marks a significant step towards improved connectivity and development for the people of Chowa and Riyan Wali. The administration is committed to ensuring the project is completed efficiently, benefiting the community at the earliest.”

Under the proactive leadership of the SDM, disputes were amicably resolved, grievances addressed, and stakeholder concerns effectively managed.
