Weekly Block Diwas: DC Rajouri listens to public grievances at outreach camp in Koteranka block

RAJOURI: As a part of the weekly Block Diwas, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Wednesday presided over a public outreach camp in Koteranka block to redress the public grievances at their doorsteps.

During the camp, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the locals and listened to their issues and concerns. He assured them that their problems would be addressed on a priority basis and directed the concerned officials to take necessary action.

The camp witnessed a good turnout, with people from various parts of the block coming forward to voice their concerns. The issues raised by the locals included the macadamization of roads, up-gradation of schools, meeting paucity of staff in Government institutions and the augmentation of health infrastructure etc.

Specific issues and demands highlighted during the camp were renovation  of tehsil road Koteranka, completion of work on road from Kandi to Mohra, new building for GPS Padiyara and GPS Gurra Sarkari; SBI Bank branch at Koteranka etc.

During the public outreach camp, the officers of different departments also took the opportunity to educate the locals about the government schemes and programs and urged them to take advantage of these initiatives.

The Deputy Commissioner sought active cooperation from the general public in achieving the developmental goals and called for coordination among departments and PRIs.

He also urged the youth to avail themselves of the various self-employment schemes launched by the government to become self-reliant. He also said that a number of schemes have been launched by the Govt for the welfare of the public and urged them to avail the benefits of the same.

Responding to the issues and demands raised during the public outreach camp, the DC passed on the spot directions to the concerned departments for ensuring the redressal of issues highlighted by the public on priority and in a time-bound manner.

Regarding the problem of water scarcity, he said that every effort is being made to achieve the goal of providing tap water to all households in a time bound manner as envisaged in the Jal Jevan Mission.

The public outreach camp was a success with the locals appreciating the efforts of the administration in reaching out to them and addressing their grievances. It served as an effective platform for the public to voice their concerns and for the government officials to take necessary actions to address them.

The timely and quality disposal of issues faced by the general public is a top priority of the district administration, and officers have been directed to work with added zeal to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

Among the others present at the public outreach camp were DDC Member Budhal Old-A, Shazia Kouser; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid besides other district and sectoral officers.
