Tourism Department celebrates Yoga day across Kashmir

SRINAGAR: In order to give push to wellness tourism and further promote the offbeat destinations, the Department of Tourism celebrated the International Day of Yoga at multiple offbeat locations across Kashmir valley.

The celebrations were held under the overall supervision of Director Tourism Kashmir, Raja Yaqoob Farooq at Naranag in Ganderbal, Nagdandi Ashram in Anantnag, Teetwal LOC in Kupwara and Aharbal in Kulgam.

The aim of holding the yoga celebrations at these offbeat destinations was to further promote these destinations and give push to health and wellness tourism across the UT.

The Department, it may be mentioned, has been promoting the lesser-known locations by showcasing their tourism potential and encouraging travellers to explore the off-beat destinations of Jammu & Kashmir. Also the Department has been introducing many new tourism products like wellness tourism, adventure tourism, wedding tourism, MICE tourism etc besides leisure tourism.
