JAMMU: To provide a platform to the youth and channelize their energy in a positive manner, a football tournament, under police’s Civic Action Programme (CAP) was inaugurated today by Senior Superintendent Police Jammu Joginder Singh here at Khel Gaon Ground Nagrota.
SP Rural Jammu Brijesh Sharma, Principal Sainik School, Nagrota, SDPO Nagrota, Officers from Army, Para military Forces, Police department were present.
Huge gathering of spectators including the members of civil society and media fraternity were also present on the occasion. A Total 5 teams will participate in this football tournament.
Senior Superintendent Police, in his address, emphasized that Jammu & Kashmir Police have always promoted positive activities and remained on the fore-front to organise varied youth engagements programmes and this one is also a step forward in this direction. He said that one of the central objectives of organising this tournament is to explore and tap hidden talent among local youth and provide them opportunity to improve and tone up their skills and at the same time keep them away from drug abuse and other social evils.
Earlier, SP Rural Jammu welcomed all the guests and participants of teams.
