Second randomization of EVMs & VVPATs successfully conducted at Kulgam

KULGAM: Second Randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) & VVPATs for the General Assembly Elections 2024 took place in Kulgam today in accordance with the Election Commission of India guidelines.

The process was conducted in the presence of General Observers Nagargoje Madan Bibhishan, M V Venkatesh deployed by ECI and District Election Officer (DEO), Athar Aamir Khan, ROs and the representatives of the National and recognized Political Parties and Contesting Candidates.

The Representatives of Political Parties who were present during the 2nd Randomization process include Bhartiya Janata Party, Communist Party of India Marxist, Indian National Congress, Jammu Kashmir National Conference, and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party.

The Randomisation was done on the EMS Software/Portal of ECI, to the satisfaction of the representatives of all the Political Parties and Contesting Candidates of all the three Assembly Constituencies of District Kulgam in the meeting.

All the representatives of political parties and contesting candidates of all the three Assembly Constituencies of District Kulgam expressed their satisfaction over the entire randomisation process.

The copies of lists of randomized CUs/BUs and VVPATs were handed over to the representatives of the political parties and contesting candidates of all the three constituencies of District Kulgam present in the meeting during the randomization. Entire process was video-recorded as per guidelines.

The randomization process focused on allocating 557 Ballot Units, 557 Control Units, and 557 Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units for all polling stations across three assembly constituencies of district Kulgam.
