RBI Jammu promotes Mission ‘LiFE’ in Jammu

JAMMU: Flagging off a ‘Green Walk cum Cleanliness’ drive by Reserve Bank of India, Jammu Regional Office, marked observance of World Environment Day here the other day.

With active participation of RBI staff members, the rally was flagged off from its office premises at Rail Head Complex, Jammu.

In line with the national level emphasis on promoting Mission ‘LiFE’ (Lifestyle for Environment), three teams of RBI staff members (‘Green Warriors’)cleaned the vicinity of the RBI Office including Bahu Plaza, Trikuta Nagar and carried the message of Mission ‘LiFE’ to beat Plastic Pollution with strong determination.

While flagging off the ‘Green Walk’, Kamal P Patnaik, Regional Director RBI, J&K, emphasized the need to inculcate environmentally friendly habits in everyday life to promote Mission ‘LiFE’. He administered the Mission ‘LiFE’ pledge to all staff members and set a target of transforming RBI premises into a ‘Single-Use Plastic-Free Zone’. He also called for collaboration between RBI and the Jammu Municipal Corporation to ensure scientific and eco-friendly disposal of plastic waste.

RBI Jammu is celebrating the event from 5 to 9 June, 2023 as ‘Green Week’ which would involve various activities like Green Innovation Challenge, ‘Best from Waste’ Competition, plantation drive etc.
