Ramzan arrangements reviewed at Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Kumar today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the holy month of Ramadan.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Power Development Department (PDD), Jal Shakti (PHE), Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (CA&FCS), Municipal Committee, Health Department, and Police, along with representatives of religious and social organizations.

The ADC directed PDD and Jal Shakti functionaries to take measures to maintain adequate power and potable water supply during Iftar and Sehri. Directions were also issued to initiate repair of defunct streetlights, damaged poles, transformers, and water supply infrastructure before Ramadan.

To regulate market prices, the ADC instructed CA&FCS to monitor the public distribution system and ensure the availability of essential commodities throughout the week. A team involving officials from MC Bhaderwah, Veterinary, Health, and CA&FCS was constituted to intensify market inspection to check overcharging and quality of food. The team was mandated to take strict action against hoarding and black marketing. The ADC also appealed to the public to report any instances of overpricing.

Furthermore, the ADC stressed the importance of sanitation and cleanliness at places of worship and congregation sites. The Municipal Committee was directed to take immediate measures to maintain hygienic conditions throughout the holy month.
