NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will celebrate Dussehra with troops of the Indian Army in Sikkim. Dussehra falls on October 12 and it marks the victory of Lord Ram over Ravana.
The Minister will be on a two-day visit (October 11-12) to Sikkim, a state that shares boundary with China.
Rajnath Singh regularly celebrates Dussehra with troops.
During his visit to the mountain state, the Minister will be briefed about the activities of Army’s 33 Corps that is tasked to secure the boundary along China.
India has bolstered its stance along the boundary especially along the Chumbi valley that is in China. The 2017 military standoff between India and China at the Doklam plateau had happened at the southern edge of the Chumbi valley.
