Chiralla to be promoted as offbeat tourist destination: DC

DODA: District Development Commissioner, Doda Vishesh Mahajan today said that the district administration is planning to promote Picturesque Chiralla Tehsil as a major offbeat tourist destination of the District.

The Deputy Commissioner, along with SSP Abdul Qayyum, SDM Thathri Athar Amin and other district officers was interacting with PRIs and locals during his tour to the mountainous Tehsil. The Team of officers interacted with the locals at Chagsoo, Panchai, Sunarthawa and Sewa villages, besides met people en-route to listen to their demands   and know the public aspirations for better planning and quality services.

The DC announced to hold a Bike Rally in Chirala to promote tourism potential destinations in the area.

The DC and SSP accepted the invitation of locals for their participation in Dangal (Local Wrestling) at picturesque Jantroon Dhaar. The DC urged locals to start provision of Homestays in the area to attract the tourists. He asked the people to enjoy and cherish the glory of the unmatched growth and development of the UT and the district.

The Major demands projected during the tour in Chirala tehsil included meeting shortage of water supply in Gurekra, Suli, Chagsoo, and other areas of the Tehsil, Completion of PHC building at Chagsoo, Road connectivity to Jantroon Dhar, Construction of Sports Grounds, Up-gradation of Schools, Govt Degree College for the area, SRTC bus service for Sewa, Development of Tourism infrastructure at Jantroon Dhaar, Mobile network for Sewa, Banking facility at Sewa, Protection wall alongside Nallah near GHSS Sewa, Completion of Receiving Station at Bhaja, Augmentation and up-gradation of road infrastructure in the area, Replacement of wooden poles, adequate Staff in Schools and Health Centres etc.

The DC asked the Jal Shakti Department to take measures to provide tap water connection to every household under JJM. “Till the JJM schemes come up, make temporary arrangements to provide water to the water scarce areas” he asked the department. He further assured that a business unit of the bank shall be established in Sewa soon. All the concerned officers were directed to resolve the genuine public demands and submit the action taken report. The DC also spoke on Holistic Agriculture Development Plan, Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan, Swachhta Abhayan, ADBHUT Doda and other such initiatives of the UT and District Administration.

Meanwhile, ADC Bhaderwah Chowdhary Dil Mir and other officers met people at Block Headquarter Bhalla to resolve the public demands and reach out to the local aspirations. SDM Gandoh, Ashraf Parveiz listened to the grievances of the people at Panchayat Changa B, while SDM Assar Lekh Raj interacted with PRIs and local people at PWD Dak Bungalow Ramgarh.

The presiding officers of Block Diwas assured that all the genuine grievances of the public will be redressed on priority basis. They asked the concerned officers to make an inventory of all the grievances and review them on a regular basis to ensure timely disposal.

They further said that all the grievances in their competence shall be taken into account on priority, and those requiring intervention at higher level shall be forwarded to the concerned authorities for appropriate and timely response.
