Baila & Salani Bus Stand made functional

RAJOURI: The residents of Rajouri Township today organized a function here at the Baila Bus Stand to express gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, for introducing concrete measures to decongest the town by reorganizing the movement of public transport vehicles.

The initiative has been widely praised for its immediate and positive impact on traffic management, benefiting commuters, transporters, and the general public alike.

Under the directions of DC Rajouri, the Public Works Department (PWD), led by the Executive Engineer, completed the blacktopping of the Baila Bus Stand in record time.

As a next measure, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Officer MC Rajouri and the Traffic Police to shift vehicles operating on Thanamandi, Darhal and Bufliaz routes to the Baila Bus Stand. Similarly, vehicles plying towards Budhal and Kalakote were relocated to the Salani Bus Stand.

Apart from this, road marking has been carried out in various parts of the town on the directions of the DC to further regulate traffic and ensure better lane discipline. The additional measure has greatly contributed to smoother vehicular movement and enhanced pedestrian safety.

This strategic move has significantly reduced traffic congestion within the town, ensuring smoother vehicular movement and a safer environment for pedestrians. The measure has also streamlined the operations of transporters and improved convenience for travelers.

Speaking at the event, representatives from the public and transport unions thanked the DC for his proactive approach and quick action. They emphasized that such initiatives demonstrate the administration’s commitment to resolving longstanding issues affecting the daily lives of the people.

“The shifting of bus stands to designated locations has not only decongested the town but has also made travel more convenient and organized. We wholeheartedly appreciate the efforts of DC Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, in addressing this critical issue,” said a senior transporter present at the function.

The Deputy Commissioner thanked the public for their cooperation and assured that the administration would continue working on similar initiatives to improve urban management and enhance civic amenities in the district.
