To make people aware of community rights & their involvement in tourism activities, motive of Administration: DC B’gam

BUDGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid today chaired a public grievances redressal camp at remote Panchayat Halqa Nagbal in Block Pakherpora of the district.

The programme was held at Government High School, Nagbal where PRIs, respected elders and local youth delegations from villages Nagbal, Kandijan and other adjacent villages raised their demands with the DC.

The DC gave them patients hearing and assured all their genuine demands shall be addressed on priority.

DDC/ BDC members, CEO Yousmarg Development Authority, SDM Chadoora and all concerned officers, officials were present on the occasion.

At the outset, the DC instructed FCS&CA Budgam to ensure timely distribution of food grains including free supply among the deserving families.

He instructed concerned to conduct awareness camps regarding self employment schemes and inform locals about their community rights and ensure their active involvement in tourism activities.

He called for prompt redressal of public issues particularly forest related and ensure better service delivery to local population.

DC said that special focus is being given on promotion of Yousmarg destination and ensure local involvement in all developmental activities and soon issues related to cellular network shall also be addressed.

He said land has been identified for the construction of a tower.

Emphasizing on providing better educational and health facilities, the DC also directed concerned to ensure timely construction of boundary wall at High School Nagbal. Besides directed concerned to ensure smooth functioning of computer lab facilities in all schools.

He instructed PDD authorities to ensure execution of improvement works and power supply connectivity at all required spots.

DC directed that a playground facility be also created for local youth.

He also took assessment of transport, healthcare and drinking water facilities and asserted that concerned citizens shall ensure improvement and better facilities to locals.

Stressing on awareness generation about government schemes, the DC also urged locals to register under different self-employment, welfare and amnesty schemes including PDD’s amnesty scheme to take maximum benefits under these schemes.

The DC also took assessment of facilities related to Sheep and Animal husbandry, Agriculture and other allied sectors being provided to locals at these centres.
