Phase I concludes across 150 Panchayats of Kathua on high note
KATHUA: Following completion of first phase of ambitious “Back to Village” program on a high note, the second phase of this public outreach initiative began here today in 107 panchayats across 10 blocks of the district.
The officers visited different government establishments and offices and reviewed their performance and progress under the government schemes and developmental deliverables specified by the UT administration. They also assessed the saturation of ADHAAR card, golden health cards, e-SHRAM card, KCC, domicile, distribution of land pass books besides old age, widow and handicapped pension.
Mesmerizing cultural programmes, sports activities especially indigenous rural games and other activities added a festive look to the day long programme.
The visiting officers also conducted social audit of MGNREGA, PMAY, IHHL, CSCs, Amrit Sarovars and other schemes.
They inaugurated and dedicated various rural assets and infrastructures to the public and explained various self employment schemes being sponsored by government departments. They also distributed sanctioned letters among the beneficiaries under PMEGP and other schemes. Besides, land passbooks, golden health cards, domicile certificates and e-Shram cards were also distributed among the beneficiaries during the 2nd day.
At Panchayat Airwan in block Nagri, Commissioner Secretary Information and IT, Prerna Puri, inaugurated Informatics Centre cum Meeting Hall constructed with a cost of Rs 50 lakh under Border Area Development Programme (BADP). She also presided over a Gram Sabha besides inspecting Anganwadi Centres, Gaushala, GPS Jamral and assessing their functioning. She also interacted with students of GHS Aiarwan and witnessed sports events.
At Panchayat Billawar Rural, Commissioner States Taxes, Dr Rashmi Singh, conducted field visit, presided over gram sabha, inspected RDD, R&B, PDD and rural sanitation assets. She also felicitated best performing staff and students of GMS Sukarala. She appreciated the role of PRIs and field functionaries of various departments who worked for redressing major issues of drinking water supply, road connectivity, sanitary complex and improvement in education scenario of the panchayat.
Similarly, visiting officer Dr Mushtaq Ahmad inspected anganwadi centre, under construction PMAY houses and recently completed panchayat assets besides taking review of drinking water and cleanliness and sanitation scenario in Panchayat Kardoh. He visited GMS Kardoh where he interacted with students and staff of the school.
At Panchayat Chann khatrian in block Hiranagar, Prabhari Officer Atul Gupta presided over multifarious activities on second day of B2V5 including inspection of anganwadi centres where he took stock of Poshan profile of the panchayat. Besides, he also took a detailed review of the facilities being extended in the Health and Wellness Centre. He listened to the issues and demands of PRI members and witnessed sports events. He also distributed sports kits among local youth of the panchayat.
The designated Prabhari Officers engaged in day long activities which inter alia including holding of gram sabhas, inauguration of recently completed works including PMAY houses, inspection of new works under MGNREGA, distribution of land pass books, health cards, presiding over sports events besides inspection of rural assets was also done by the visiting officers.
