Injured shifted to Army’s 92 Base hospital, his condition stable: MS JVC

SRINAGAR: A policeman was injured after he was shot at by the unidentified militants at Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina area of Srinagar on Saturday late evening, officials said here.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that militants on Saturday late evening attacked a policeman identified as Mohammad Hafiz Chad, son of Ghulam Hassan Chad of Mathiya bund, Hamdaniya Colony, Srinagar.

He added that the cop has received injury in the right arm and abdomen and has been shifted to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Police Zone, in a post on X, formally Twitter, wrote: “#Terrorists fired upon & injured one police personnel namely Mohammad Hafiz Chad S/O Gh Hassan Chad R/O #Bemina at Hamdaniya colony Bemina. He has been shifted to hospital for treatment. Area #cordoned off. Further details shall follow.”

When contacted, Medical Superintendent JVC Srinagar, Dr. Shifa Deva told KNO that the condition of the injured is stable and has been taken to the Army’s 92 Base Hospital, Badmibagh, Srinagar for advanced treatment.

Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off and police have taken cognizance of the incident.
