Didn’t beat, thrash anybody; I follow democratic principles; won’t allow land mafia flourish, let law take its own course, says BJP leader
SRINAGAR: Young BJP leader and DDC member for Khonmoh, Er. Aijaz Hussain, has responded to allegations made against him by stating that the individuals accusing him are connected to a land mafia, and it was his duty to speak out against such elements.
Er Aijaz also refuted the news reports that he thrashed the duo stating that “he doesn’t believe in violence and that he follows the democratic principles.” He said that let law take its own course. “I won’t allow land mafia to flourish. I didn’t beat anybody. I believe in democratic principles,” he said.
Addressing a press conference here in Srinagar, Er Aijaz said that during a visit to the Khonmoh area on Tuesday, the Secretary RDD secretary was also present. “On our return, the individuals who made the accusations verbally abused me. Despite this, I remained composed and filed a complaint against them at the Panthachowk police station. Our community is concerned about their actions, which include attempting to seize property belonging to the Pandit community and encroaching upon agricultural land,” he said, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
He further said that they have also misused state-owned land. “The government has taken decisive action against them, leaving them astonished,” he added.
He also said that the government is already taking strong action against the four individuals who made the allegations. Notices have been issued to them by the concerned Tehsildar for unlawfully encroaching upon agricultural land. “We collaborate with the administration to combat unlawful activities and uphold the law. Although there are political individuals supporting those responsible, we are determined to expose them,” he added.
He reiterated that he has never engaged in wrongdoing and will uphold the principles that protect his integrity and that of his party. He strongly opposes the presence of a land mafia and trusts the Jammu and Kashmir Police to thoroughly investigate the matter and take appropriate action. The false accusations and acts of violence raise concerns about how ordinary citizens may be treated.
He also expressed concern for his safety, stating that these individuals behaving like hooligans have put his life in danger. He urged the authorities to ensure his protection. These gangsters possess significant wealth and have unlawfully seized thousands of kanals of government land.
Notably, the J&K police informed that a complaint had been lodged by Nazim Hussain Bhat and Imdad Ali Mir, residents of Balhama Srinagar, leading to the registration of an FIR against DDC member Aijaz Hussain Rather for offenses of wrongful restraint and voluntarily causing hurt under sections 323 and 341 of the IPC.
