Budgam: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Budgam have arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A Police party of Police Station Khansahib at a checkpoint established at Wagar Khansahib intercepted a vehicle (Alto-800) bearing registration number JK04B-0592 with two persons onboard. They have been identified as Riyaz Ahmad Dar son of Wali Mohd resident of Khari Bagh Gopal Saif Chadoora and Mohd Altaf Rather son of Mohd Akbar resident of Chill Panzan Chadoora.
During search, 100 grams of Charas covered in maize-cob leaves was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 205/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
