PMAY-G Workshop promotes “Housing for All” Mission at Samba

SAMBA: The Department of Rural Development today marked a significant milestone in rural housing development through a comprehensive workshop and awareness camp on the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).

The transformative initiative brought together rural residents, officials, and stakeholders to accelerate the mission of “Housing for All” across the district.

The strategically organized event was inaugurated by Director RDD Mohammad Mumtaz Ali along with District Development Commissioner Samba Rajesh Sharma. The event unveiled pathways for hundreds of rural families to realize their dream of owning a pucca house through the government’s flagship housing scheme.

“This workshop represents our unwavering commitment to transform rural living conditions and ensure no eligible family remains without dignified housing in Samba district,” said the District Development Commissioner.

Participants received expert guidance on navigating eligibility criteria, application procedures and utilizing digital platforms like the Awaas+ app—empowering them with knowledge to access benefits efficiently. The interactive sessions featured success stories from previous beneficiaries, demonstrating the life-changing impact of the scheme.

Other attendees included ADDC Champa Thakur; ACD Mehmood Riaz; ACP Narsingh Dayal Verma, along with Block Development Officers and Rural Engineering Wing officials.
