One Day Counseling cum Mentorship Seminar held for IAS/ JKAS Aspirants at Kulgam

KULGAM: The District Employment and Counseling Centre, Kulgam under the aegis of District Administration Kulgam today organised a day long mentorship/career counseling Seminar for civil services aspirants of District Kulgam at Auditorium cum Conference Hall of Mini-Secretariat Kulgam.

The theme of the programme was ‘How to Crack IAS/JKAS Examinations’.

The Seminar was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, who was also the chief guest on the occasion. Major Abhinanadan (CCE Qualifier -2023) attended the seminar as the invited guest speaker.

On the occasion, the speakers shared their wide experiences and expertise with the students.

In his presentation, the DC provided a comprehensive outlook to the students on the necessity of qualifying the civil services examinations like JKAS and IAS for a better career choice and effective public contribution.

He stressed that for cracking this prestigious exam, students need to perform some specific exercises/practices like reading newspapers daily and NCERT books, understand national and international current and social issues, learning good presentation, time-management, reading previous year question-papers of UPSC/JKPSC  and most importantly focus on personality development.

He reiterated the commitment of the Govt. in providing quality education and preparing students for future challenges. He said that one can render noble service to the society through civil services even in an increasingly corporate driven world.

Major Abhinanandan informed the aspirants that having academic degrees is not enough, but what is needed is focus, hard-work and full dedication. He provided tips on the various books, reading material and resources that students need to access for qualifying the exams like IAS and KAS.

He advised the students to inculcate passion and motivation for qualifying the Civil Service exams and exhorted them to focus on set goals by evolving a proper strategy to qualify civil service exams. He underscored the need to constantly put in efforts at an opportune time to qualify the same.

Earlier, Career Counselling Officer DE&CC Kulgam highlighted the series of ongoing initiatives and programmes organized by DE&CC Kulgam for the career counseling of students.

The programme was very informative and enriching for students. It gave everyone a clear perspective about the strategies to be adopted for cracking these prestigious examinations. All the factors affecting the choice of the students were addressed, questions/queries were answered and the stereotypes were dispelled. 2800 Aspirants and students attended the programme.
