UDHAMPUR: To address the grievances of the stakeholders, including employees and employers by bringing them on a common platform and to sensitize them about the new initiatives under taken in their interest by the organization (EPFO), Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0 programme was today conducted here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex in collaboration with District Administration Udhampur .
Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia; Chief Planning Officer, Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar; GM DIC, Pankaj Anand; ACD, Dr Ranjeet Kotwal, other officers besides stakeholders attended the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishya was the chief guest, while Rizwan Uddin, P F Commissioner, J&K and Ladakh presided over the programme.
After the inaugural session, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur pointed out the relevance of social security to the families of working class, who in the eventuality are protected financially through Insurance and Pension. He asked the participants to sensitize the organized workers in their respective departments to enable them to avail the benefits of PF scheme.
During the programme, P F Commissioner gave a detailed power point presentation on the benefits of EPF scheme. He informed that after abrogation of 370 all the EPF related acts are applicable in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He apprised the participants about the employees’ provident fund scheme 1952 and Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) as well as Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI) and their benefits.
He informed the participants about the salient features of employees deposit linked insurance scheme 1976. Under this scheme, maximum assured benefit up to Rs 7 lakh is paid to the nominee or legal heir of an EPF member, if death occurs while in service, he added. It is noteworthy to mention that benefits of pension and insurance are available to workers through Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 and Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance, Scheme, 1976 with effect from November, 2019 in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Later, PF Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin also interacted with media and threw light on the salient features of Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) as well as Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI), with special emphasis on Pension and Insurance Schemes, as these schemes have driven home for the people who work in risky zones.
He urged the officers and other stakeholders to deposit the EPF of organized workers so that the workers may get these benefits. Officers/stakeholders were asked to comply with the provision of EPF and MP Act 1952. He reiterated that EPFO Regional Office, Jammu is always committed in providing prompt service delivery to all the stakeholders in a transparent, accessible, and convenient manner.
