NIA to probe tribal woman’s killing, Manipur encounter

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will investigate the November 11 incident in which 10 suspected militants were killed in an encounter with security forces and the November 7 case in which a tribal woman was killed after being set on fire by armed militants in Manipur.

Meanwhile, the bodies of a woman and two children, who were missing since November 11 encounter, were found floating in a river in Assam, police sources said.

According to sources, the Manipur Government handed over the cases to the NIA on the recommendation of the Union Home Ministry.
