National Seminar on ‘Human Values & Modern Education’ held at GDC Frisal

DC Kulgam presides over the event

KULGAM: The Debates and Seminar Committee of Government Degree College (GDC) Frisal Friday organized its maiden one-day National Seminar on the theme ‘Human Values and Modern Education.’

The event, presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, brought together eminent educationists from across the country who shared valuable insights on the topic.

The seminar, held in two sessions, with the inaugural address delivered online by Prof. Seema Naz, Nodal Principal, Kashmir Division Colleges. The keynote address was presented virtually by Prof. Mujibul Hassan Siddique, Ex-Chairman, Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University, highlighting the critical need for integrating human values with modern education.

Prominent speakers in the virtual sessions included Prof. Masarat Saheb Ali, Principal Humaira Khan College of Education Mumbai; Prof. Priyank Kumar Shivam, ICFAI University Tripura; Prof. Rafeed Ali E, Regional Director, Regional Centre Kolkata CDOE MANUU; Dr. Syed Ishfaq Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Kashmir University; and Prof. Rakesh Bharti, Govt. College of Education Jammu.

Earlier, the session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah, Principal GDC Frisal.

The 2nd session, held in the college conference hall, was graced by the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Athar Amir-ul-Shafi-Khan.

In his address, he emphasized the importance of human values in education and their societal relevance.

Other speakers included Prof. Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani, Head and Dean, School of Education, Central University of Kashmir; Dr. Shabir Ahmad Padder, Principal GDC Kilam; and Mushtaq Ahmad Qadri, ex-Chief Education Officer, Anantnag.
