More than 100 Boxers participated in Open Boxing Championship in Doda

DODA: The District Doda Boxing Association recently hosted a highly successful Open Boxing Championship, drawing over 100 participants across various age groups.

 The competition saw boys and girls under 14, 17, and 19 years, battling it out in different weight categories.

The event not only highlighted the raw talent present in the district but also the high level of dedication and preparation put in by the young athletes.

Mohammad Aslam, Superintendent of Police Doda, graced the event as chief guest. In his address, he appreciated participants for their courage, skill, and determination. He underscored the importance of sports in building discipline and character and encouraged the young athletes to pursue their passion for boxing with vigor.

The event concluded with a medal distribution ceremony, celebrating the hard work and achievements of the participants. Bharat Bushan (Secretary), Adv. Davinder Singh (Joint Secretary), and Amit Parihar (Treasurer) from the District Doda Boxing Association played pivotal roles in organizing the event.

During the closing ceremony, Bharat Bushan expressed his gratitude to all members of the organizing committee and the experienced coaches from the state association, Anil Chib and Gautam Sharma, conducted a two-day workshop prior to the competition. Their guidance and expertise were instrumental in the success of the championship.

The event was also attended by notable figures such as Dr. Arjun Singh, Physical Director at GDC Kastigarh, Vinod Bandral (Coach), and Naresh Singh, further adding to the significance and success of the championship.
