‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign in full swing at Baramulla

Cultural events, Panch Pran Pledge ceremony organised to showcase feeling of Patriotism/ Unity of people towards Country

BARAMULLA: In connection with celebrations of ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign, the District Information Centre Baramulla in collaboration with Cultural Unit Srinagar and other departments today conducted a Cultural event at Eco Park Khadiniyar Baramulla through which a rich and glowing tribute was paid to to all those heroes who made supreme sacrifices for the noble cause.

A large number of artists, poets, other prominent citizens besides concerned functionaries of all departments showed their enthusiastic participation in the Cultural programme. 

The artistic performances highlighted diverse range of fascinating art forms of Jammu and Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage and traditional legacy.

It is worth here to mention that ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign aims at invoking a feeling of patriotism and unity in the hearts of people and promoting a sense of respect for the soil of the nation and symbols of country’s Independence. 

The campaign includes various components including Plantation and  remembering brave hearts, Memorials / symbolic items to be placed with plants,  hoisting of National Flag and singing of Rashtra Gaan (National Anthem) and Panch Pran Pledge.

As part of the campaign, Panch Pran Pledge ceremony was also undertaken by students, Volunteers and other prominent citizens at Sikh War Memorial Baramulla in connection with ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign to affirm the objective to fulfil dream of a developed India in 2047.

Meanwhile, other programmes will be organized as part of the campaign  to pay homage to the ‘Veers’ who had sacrificed their lives for our future. As part of this initiative a ‘Shilaphalakam’ will be erected at each location to pay tributes to Veers.
