Mehbooba Mufti visits Waheed Parra’s residence, offers condolences

PULWAMA: Former Chief Minister and People’s Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti, along with party leaders, visited the former Secretary of J&K Sports Council and PDP Youth President Waheed ur Rehman Parra’s residence on Friday to offer condolences on his father’s death.

Mehbooba visited Parra’s residence in Naira Pulwama around noon to express her condolences on the demise of Haji Ghulam Ahmad Parra, the father of Waheed ur Rehman Parra.

The 62-year-old Parra, a model apple grower in his region, bravely battled cancer for over a year. The son of a staunch Congressman, he leaves behind three sons and a daughter. He passed away late at night on Wednesday after a prolonged battle with stage IV cancer at his Naira Pulwama residence.

The PDP president expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the Parra family. “My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family in this hour of grief. May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannah,” Mufti said at the condolence meet.

She said that she stands in solidarity with Waheed in this hour of mourning and unimaginable grief, praying to Almighty Allah to give them the strength to bear this inconsolable loss. Mufti was accompanied by party leaders from across the Kashmir Province.
