ANANTNAG: The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Fakhruddin Hamid today inaugurated the Intensive Information Education and Communication (IEC) Programme of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan at Town Hall Anantnag.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the mission’s goal of saturating tribal majority and tribal villages in aspirational districts with specific interventions. The Abhiyan, comprising 25 interventions to be implemented by 17 line departments, aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of tribal communities in a time-bound manner.
IEC campaigns are being conducted from 15th to 26th November across the district, involving gram sabhas, field visits, project assessments, and inspections.
The DC also highlighted the significant contributions of tribal leader Bisra Munda.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner inspected stalls set up by various departments to provide information and details of schemes for tribal communities.
The program concluded with the distribution of entitlements to beneficiaries under schemes such as Mumkin, Forest Rights Act and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (G).
Sanction letters under agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry etc were also allotted to tribal beneficiaries. ABHA cards were issued to beneficiaries by the health department.
Felicitation stakeholders of Gujar Bakarwal hostel were awarded certificates of appreciation.
