BANDIPORA: The Department of Animal Husbandry Bandipora today conducted a mega awareness camp regarding Lumpy Skin Diseases (LSD) at the meeting hall of the Municipal Committee, Hajin.
Chairman MC Hajin, Chairman MC Sumbal, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO), Bandipora, EO MC Hajin, Nodal Officer, LSD Bandipora, ward members, PRIs besides farmers, college students and senior citizens participated in the camp.
Dr Syed Sharik Shakeel (Nodal Officer, LSD Bandipora) briefed the gathering about the status of the disease and vaccination in the district.
The CAHO made the gathering aware about Lumpy Skin Disease, its signs, symptoms and methods of prevention and control. He further explained to the gathering that due to the support of District Administration Bandipora and timely intervention of the officials of AHD Bandipora for reporting, isolation of the affected animals, treatment and vaccination, the disease is in control with very less number of affected Animals in the District.
Chairman MC Hajin appreciated the efforts of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Bandipora for being robust in controlling the disease so far and he further assured the CAHO Bandipora that due support in every possible manner will be extended to the Department in combating the spread of the disease.
CAHO informed that more than 150 LSD related awareness camps have been conducted by the Department of Animal Husbandry Bandipora so far and regular camps are being conducted resulting in less number of cases in the district.
