JAMMU: MSME-Development Facilitation Office, Jammu- the field office of Union Ministry of MSME implements various schemes and activities for the benefit of MSME Sector in Jammu & Kashmir.
In furtherance of its objectives, a Vendor Development Programme, being held from October 28, 2024 to October 29, 2024 was inaugurated today by Managing Director JKTPO Khalid Jahangir.
In his address, the Managing Director JKTPO informed the participants about the draft J&K Procurement preference policy 2024 for MSEs which is kept in public domain to seek consultation/comments from the stakeholders in line with Public Procurement Policy 2012.
The objectives of the VDP are promoting the PPP 2012. As per the policy all the government Departments & CPSUs are mandated to provide reservation in their procurement of materials and services from MSEs to the extent of 25% with sub target of 3% reservation for Women entrepreneurs and 4% reservation for SC/ST owned MSEs which is yet to be achieved by some PSUs.
Tender fees and EMD exemption are also eligible for MSEs who are registered in the Udyam portal. Udyam registration was introduced by the government for registration of MSEs on self-certification basis without any uploading of documents on www.udyamregistration.gov.in which is totally free. Presently Jammu & Kashmir has more than 4, 50,000 MSEs registered.
In the vendor development programme, various government departments and PSUs informed MSEs about their annual purchase plan to enable the latter to make informed decisions towards their production. The Government department & PSUs further explained their respective vendor registration procedure, got their queries clarified from MSEs in addition to the lecture about the purchase patterns of products and services required by them.
Kunwarani Dr.Ritu Singh attended the programme as the Guest of Honor and motivated the MSEs to improve their designing capacity for getting maximum benefits from Government departments & PSUs under PPP 2012. The VDP was being organized as per the directions of G.Velladurai IEDS Joint Director, MSME DFO Jammu.
IOCL, Power Grid, Food Corporation of India, GeM, SIDBI, DGFT, JKTPO, J&K SICOP and NSSO, Jammu are participating in the VDP being held at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar.
Prominent persons present at the inaugural programme were Lalit Mahajan, President BBIA, Dr. Navneet Kour, Founder Chairperson of NGO SUPPORT, Harbinder Singh, President Tiny & Small Industries Association and others. The programme was coordinated by DK Tyagi, Assistant Director.
