Maha Shivratri, Ramadan arrangements discussed in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: To ensure smooth and hassle-free celebrations of the Maha Shivratri and Ramadan, Deputy Commissioner  Saloni Rai along with Senior Superintendent of Police Amod Ashok Nagpure, convened a meeting with district officers and civil society representatives of the district here in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

Threadbare discussions were held on varried arrangements  including security, availability of safe drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, first aid, sanitation, deployment of fire tenders, garbage collection, police personnel deployment and traffic management etc.

Necessary directions were issued to the heads of various departments to ensure foolproof arrangements during the festive season. She emphasized the need for robust security measures and instructed the Police Department to make adequate arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents.

The CMO was directed to deploy health teams along with ambulances to provide medical assistance. 

The Executive Engineer Jal Shakti was tasked with ensuring a regular supply of drinking water, while Xen JPDCL was instructed to maintain uninterrupted power supply throughout the festival period.

To uphold cleanliness in the town, the DC directed the CEO Municipality to take proactive measures and urged public cooperation in maintaining hygiene. 

In view of the festive season, officers concerned were instructed to conduct market inspections to prevent overcharging by shopkeepers. 

The general public was advised against parking vehicles on roadsides to avoid congestion. Besides this Traffic Police was directed to deploy an adequate number of personnel in traffic-prone areas to ensure smooth vehicular movement.

During the meeting, the DC also apprised the participants about the PM Surya  Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and JK Samadhan Portal, urging civil society members to avail maximum benefits from these schemes. SDMs were directed to conduct awareness campaigns and facilitate mass registrations under these initiatives in their respective jurisdictions.
