BUDGAM: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Budgam today organized a one day Interaction cum training programme on ‘Role and responsibilities of Board of Directors of FPOs’ at KVK Campus, here.
Regional Director NCDC, Govt. of India, Lt. Col. Ashish Mohan Agarwal was chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, the Regional Director NCDC, Govt. of India discussed various issues regarding FPO formation and its implementation and assured all possible assistance from their organization.
Earlier, the programme started with a welcome address by Dr. Ambreen Nabi (SMS Veg. Science).
Dr. Mir Nadeem Hassan (Coordinator FPO) presented a brief progress report of two FPOs while Sr. Scientist & Head KVK Budgam, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Lone highlighted the role of FPOs in doubling the farmers income.
Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Budgam ensured full support and cooperation in implementation of FPO scheme in the District.
The programme was also attended by Deputy Director, NCDC Govt. of India Vivek Tripathi alongwith Deputy Registrar Cooperative Budgam, Abida Nabi, Scientists of the Kendra and members of Boards of Directors of two FPO’s.
At the end, vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Vaseem Yousuf (SMS Plant Protection) KVK Budgam.
