KU’s north campus organises alumni meet

BARAMULLA: To highlight the significance of fostering bonding, networking and collaboration and to provide a platform for rekindling connections and creating new ones, the North Campus, University of Kashmir (KU) Friday held its first-ever alumni meet.

The alumni meets are being organised on the directions of H’ Vice Chancellor Prof. Neelofer Khan.

Former students from the Department of Management Studies, the Department of Computer Sciences, the Department of Computer Science Engineering and the Department of English attended, besides teaching, non-teaching staff and students of North campus attended the meet.

Principal of Government Degree College for Women, Sopore, Prof. Bashir Ahmad Parray was also present.

On the occasion, Director, North Campus, Prof Bashir Ahmad Ganai underscored the role of organising these meets in nurturing a strong alumni community. He said the alumni meets provide a platform for rekindling connections and creating new ones.

Director, Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC), University of Kashmir, Prof Geer Mohammad Ishaq emphasised the vital role of the alumni in guiding and inspiring the current students.

Training and Placement Officer, North Campus, KU, Dr Umar Farooq highlighted the pivotal role of the training and placement cell in facilitating internships, placements and workshops for the students.

The meet recognised and celebrated the achievements of the outstanding alumni who were felicitated for their accomplishments ,later shared their inspiring success stories to motivate the audience.

The event also witnessed a networking session that facilitated interactions between the alumni and the current students exchanging experiences, insights and guidance.

The event also showcased a captivating cultural segment with traditional and contemporary performances by the students.

Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Dr Maleeha Gul conducted the proceedings of the event.
