SRINAGAR: The Centre for Capacity Building & Skill Development (CCB&SD), University of Kashmir, on Tuesday organised a prize-cum-certificate distribution function of the recently-held national essay writing competition organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
Students from various teaching departments of the University had participated in the competition on the theme of ‘Entrepreneurial Culture of India’ on June 8, 2023 under ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan chaired the event as chief guest, while Prof Irshad Ahmad Nawchoo, Dean Research KU, Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir Registrar KU, Prof Sameer Gul, I/C Librarian KU and Dr Aijaz Mir, Senior Consultant, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship were also present.
The Vice-Chancellor made her special remarks about the initiative of CCB&SD and congratulated the winners and the participants of the national essay-writing competition.
The Vice-Chancellor also gave away the mementos to the dignitaries, besides cash prizes and certificates to the winning students.
The Registrar also shared his views on the occasion and called for more such collaborative events to be organised in future.
Dr Aadil Bashir, Coordinator, CCB&SD, briefed the gathering about the new mandate of the Centre, which was formerly named as SRC.
The collaborative initiative was primarily aimed to bridge the gap between academia and the Industry, and empower students with the necessary skills and competencies while choosing entrepreneurship as their career.
The event was attended by several heads of departments, directors and students from various teaching departments.
Shumaila conducted the proceedings, while Mohammad Yousuf delivered the vote of thanks.
