KU holds one-day webinar on ‘Career Opportunities for Pharma Students’

Srinagar: Kashmir University’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences on Saturday organised a one-day webinar on ‘Career Opportunities for Pharma Students’.

The national-level webinar was organised as part of the department’s ‘Pharmacy-UoK Webinar Series 2022’.

Dean Academic Affairs Prof Farooq A Masoodi graced the webinar as chief guest and underscored the importance of such events which will help young students to shape their career plans. He also laid emphasis on the industry-academia collaboration and congratulated the department for leading KU in this regard.

Dr Arshad Hussain Khuroo, Global Head, Bioavailability & Bioequivalence, Sun Pharma (R&D) India was the Chief Resource Person and delivered the keynote presentation. He gave a detailed outline of how the global pharmaceutical market has experienced significant growth in recent years and how its human resource requirements have revolutionised in the past few decades.

The main component of his talk was to prepare students for taking up challenges and making responsible decisions as prospective candidates for jobs in the pharmaceutical industry.

The webinar was convened by Prof Mubashir Hussain Masoodi, Head Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, who, in his opening remarks, highlighted the need of providing right platform to students where they can expose themselves to the real time challenges in pharmaceutical job market. He said it is important to prepare students in line with the industry expectations after the completion of formal education by them.

The webinar was attended by more than 300 delegates from different parts of the country and abroad.
