SRINAGAR: The J&K Sports Council, Khelo India Kabaddi Centre Shadipora, Bandipora, celebrated the remarkable achievements of its trainees, who displayed dedication and perseverance during their training period and made it to different J&K Kabaddi teams during the 2023-24 cycle under different categories.
Ecstatic with the results, Coach Firdous Ahmad said that trainees express their gratitude to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for providing opportunities and platform to them to showcase their talent.
While expressing gratefulness on behalf of players to Khelo India and J&K Sports Council for all facilities and opportunities, Firdous said that his entire centre is also thankful to Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull who has been very supportive all through.
On the occasion, Nuzhat Gull while appreciating the commitment of players said that though trainees of the centre hail from diverse backgrounds, yet they are united in their passion for Kabaddi, showcasing exceptional dedication, discipline and sportsmanship.
The commendable performance of our players at the national level is a testament to their hard work and the affective training provided in the Khelo India Kabaddi Centre, Shadipora, she added.
Nuzhat Gull said that the achievements of trainees reflect the quality of training and the support system provided by J&K Sports Council.
The trainees Tabasum Mohi-u-Din hailing from Shadipora and Danish Ali Waza from Kawapora Bandipora were selected for SGFI Nationals in the U-17 category and represented J&K Team at Telangana Hyderabad in the National Kabaddi Championship. Similarly, Gazala Gulzar hailing from Mujgund of district Srinagar was selected for AKFI and represented the J&K Junior Kabaddi team at the same venue.
Arif Hussain Kawa hailing from Kawapora, Bandipora, and Shahid Manzoor from Kachan Ganderbal, were selected for SGFI Nationals in the U-19 category and represented the J&K team at Mandiya, Karnataka. Mehran Ali and Aakash Bashir hailing from the same place were selected for SGFI Nationals in the U-14 category and represented J&K at Ranchi.
Three more trainees, Shahid Zahoor, Nazia Lateef, and Minhar Mushtaq made it to the AKFI Sub-junior National Kabaddi Championship held at Patna, Bihar.
