DC Calls for revitalisation of Youth Clubs through active participation in Governance process
KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting to discuss the revitalization of Youth Clubs in the district, here at Conference Hall of DC Office complex.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Ankur Mahajan, CPO Kathua Uttam Singh, ACD Kathua and other officers including the CMO, CEO, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, AD DECC and other concerned.
The primary objective of the meeting was to brainstorm ideas on how to strengthen the Youth Clubs and engage the youth in governance.
During the meeting, DC Kathua emphasized the importance of involving the youth in the development process. He stressed that the youth are the future of the nation and their active participation in governance is crucial for the overall growth and progress of the district.
It was decided in the meeting that district administration will hold a Mega Youth awareness camp during the forthcoming event of LG’s Special Governance camp for DPs of PoJK as part of its hand holding efforts for the youth of the district.
The meeting also discussed modalities for the organization of Special Governance Cum Youth Awareness Camp scheduled to be held on 19th of March 2023 which aims to create awareness among the youth about the functioning of the government, various welfare schemes and their rights and responsibilities as citizens. The camp will provide a platform for the youth to interact with the officials and learn about the government’s policies and initiatives.
The DC also directed the Nodal Officer for Youth Clubs to make a calendar for organising awareness activities in rural and urban areas through PRIs and respective heads of ULBs.
DC directed the officers to identify the potential members for the Youth Clubs and provide them with training and support to organize various activities and events to engage the youth. He also urged the officials to ensure that the Special Governance Cum Youth Awareness Camp is conducted efficiently and effectively.
