KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, today launched the Udhyam Jagriti Campaign under Mission Yuva at Panchayat Sahar in Kathua. The event, organized by the Department of Labour, aimed to promote entrepreneurship and skill development among young entrepreneurs.

The Udhyam Jagriti Campaign is part of Mission YUVA (Yuva Udhyami Vikas Abhiyan), which seeks to bridge the gap between the region’s youth and market-oriented skills and employability. The campaign is designed to provide a platform for young entrepreneurs to access resources, support, and guidance.

At the outset, a detailed PowerPoint presentation was given by the Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Kathua, Piyusha Khajuria highlighting the benefits of Mission Yuva for young entrepreneurs. The presentation emphasized the support and subsidies, training, and skill development provided under the scheme, including business guidance, market connectivity, government subsidy, and collateral-free loans.

Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, urged the youth to make the most of the available opportunities. He expressed the administration’s commitment to organizing similar events in all 257 panchayats across the district, aiming to benefit the maximum number of people from the support and subsidies, training, and skill development provided under the scheme.

Highlighting the uniqueness of the initiative, Deputy Commissioner Kathua stated that Mission YUVA adopts a bottom-up approach, integrating all schemes of different departments to cater to a wide range of entrepreneurs, including small, micro, nano, and medium enterprises.

The Career Counselling Officer (CCO) Surjeet Kumar threw light on the launch of the “Youth Skill & Entrepreneurship App,” designed by Mission Yuva, which will benefit the youth in entrepreneurship development. The app is freely available on the Google Play store, he informed.
