NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Wednesday said Karnataka Assembly elections will be held on May 10 and counting of votes on May 13.
The term of the 224-member Karnataka Assembly would end on May 24.
CEC Rajiv Kumar said the commission was committed to conduct a free, fair and without any inducement polls.
Karnataka has 224 assembly constituencies, comprising 173 general seats, 36 SC and 15 ST seats, he said.
Persons with disabilities voters will get an opportunity to vote from home, the CEC informed.
Also, voters who are 80 years of age and above would also get facility to vote from home.
Number of voters, who are 80 years and above are 12 lakh. Karnataka has 5.22 crore voters and special focus is on registering new voters, said CEC.
