Inspects ongoing construction of new building of Court Complex

KUPWARA: Justice Sindhu Sharma, Judge High court of J&K and Ladakh and Administrative Judge for district Kupwara today visited Court Complex Kupwara.

The Justice was accompanied by Joint Registrar Judicial, Incharge Protocol, Abdul Bari and other Secretaries and Staff Members.

On her arrival, Justice Sindhu Sharma was warmly welcomed by Incharge District Judge Khem Raj Sharma; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray; SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas; Secretary DLSA, Muzamil Wani; Sub Judge Kupwara, Rajeev Kumar; Munsiff, Mir Altaf; President Bar Association Shafiq Ahmad Shah and other officers of Bar and administration.

Justice Sindhu Sharma inspected the guard of honour presented by district police. She also planted a Deodar sapling to symbolically commence the plantation drive of DLSA in the premises of the court.

Afterwards, she inspected the new court complex work and advised the executing agency for speedy completion of the same. The Justice inspected ADR Centre where she was briefed of legal services activities being provided to people and litigants by Secretary DLSA.

Separate interaction was held with judicial and administrative officers and various issues were heard and discussed which include the need of separate Malkhana as well. Prosecutors through Sr PP Dar Rasheed raised the issue of paucity of space for their offices.

Bar association Kupwara presented its memorandum of demands to the Justice and sought her intervention in early completion of court construction and further facilitated court canteen and permanent Judges for courts at Trehgam and Kupwara.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Sindhu Sharma appreciated the warm welcome and assured all possible help within the bounds of law to raise the issues of bar and bench in the Hon’ble High Court before different committees.

She further said that better facilities of litigant lawyers and judges are need of hour and all steps required to ensure justice at door steps shall be taken up. She on spot directed Deputy Commissioner to ensure proper washroom facilities and court complex for NIA court and court of fast track judge.

She afterwards went to sub division Handwara for inspection of court complexes located there. At Handwara, ongoing work of the court complex was inspected and directions passed for speedy completion of the same. The Justice also interacted with the Judicial Officers and Members of Bar Association and heard their issues in detail.
