JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched the deployment of road sweeping machines in Ward No. 50, Channi Himmat, as part of its ongoing efforts under the Swachh Bharat Mission to improve cleanliness and sanitation in the region.
The initiative was launched in presence of Member Legislative Assembly Vikram Randhawa and Commissioner, JMC Dr. Devansh Yadav.
At the launch event, they underscored the significance of mechanized cleaning in maintaining public hygiene and ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment for local residents.
Earlier, a Public Samvaad session was held in which both speakers actively engaged with the community, listening to public grievances and assuring residents that their concerns would be addressed promptly.
In his address, MLA Vikram Randhawa reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing civic amenities and improving sanitation standards across Jammu.
The Commissioner emphasized that the introduction of road sweeping machines would greatly increase the efficiency of the cleaning process and significantly reduce manual labour, in line with the broader goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The residents of Channi Himmat warmly welcomed the initiative, expressing their full support for continued efforts aimed at maintaining a cleaner and healthier city.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner (South) Lal Chand, Secretary, JMC, Chand Singh, Joint Commissioner (works) Firdous Ahmad Qazi, besides other senior officers of JMC and locals were present on the occasion.
