BANDIPORA: On the directions of District Development Commissioner/ Chairperson, District Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Bandipora, a daylong hand holding cum awareness program for PRIs, Pani Samiti members and other stakeholders was held at Dak Bungalow Gurez.
The program was attended by DDC Member Gurez Tasleem Akhtar, Ex. Engineer SSD Gurez, BDO Gurez Dr Nazir Ahmad, besides various stakeholders including Pani Samiti members, Sarpanches, field staff of Rural Development Department, Jal Shakti Department (PHE), DPMU Staff, Anganwadi/ASHA workers, water testing lab staff.
During the introductory session, various aspects of Jal Jeevan Mission and the steps being undertaken for ensuring clean and safe drinking water to every household were highlighted.
BDO Gurez Dr Nazir Ahmad also spoke on the occasion and impressed upon PRIs to proactively play their role in smooth implementation of the scheme.
Executive Engineer, SSD, Gurez, Assadaullah Najar also spoke and assured that works shall be completed within the stipulated time frame and assured all possible support in implementation of various aspects of JJM in Sub Division Gurez.
It was also given out during the programme that 21 works under JJM have been allotted for execution, which are slated for completion during this year.
Stakeholders were further emphasized to play a proactive role in the support and capacity building activities being conducted by ISA partners and Jal Shakti Department so as to ensure smooth functioning of the schemes once they are functional.
Altaf Ahmad Mir, Coordinator, IEC, JJM, Bandipora presented detailed analysis of various aspects and achievements of Jal Jeevan Mission.
Another session was conducted by Irfan, State Coordinator, ISA JJM, who conducted a detailed analysis of various IEC aspects of Jal Jeevan Mission.
Nuzhat Ul Islam, Chemist, Sub Divisional Water Testing Lab, Gurez , also conducted live demonstrations of water testing and answered various queries of the stakeholders.
