IUST Organizes AIDS Awareness Program: “LET COMMUNITIES LEAD”

AWANTIPORA: The Islamic University of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Jammu Kashmir AIDS Control Society (JKACS), Department of Health and Medical Education, J&K Govt., and Jammu & Kashmir Paramedical & Nursing Council, successfully hosted a week-long World AIDS Day program from December 1st to 5th, 2023.

Under the aegis of the Red Ribbon Club, the Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology (SMMCN&MT) at IUST spearheaded the event, themed “LET COMMUNITIES LEAD.”

Prof. M. Ayoub Qadri, Dean School of Health Sciences praised the efforts of IUST in organizing such programs and urged students to champion awareness initiatives. Ms. Asmat Parveen, Principal SMMCN&MT said that such programs emphasized the need to address discrimination against AIDS patients, and underscored the significance of community-led initiatives.

The program featured competitions, a human chain, poster-making, rangoli, and educational sessions aimed at fostering awareness.
