IUST organized INSPIRE program for Senior Secondary students

Awantipora:  The department of Physics, Islamic University of Science and Technology in collaboration with Dean Outreach IUST organized the INSPIRE program which was attended by students from different institutions of the valley. The program was aimed to motivate and inspire the talented senior secondary students of the valley to pursue careers in Physics.

Sixty students from different higher secondary institutions had registered for the program, who interacted with the scientists, staff, and students in the School of Engineering and Technology and visited the scientific infrastructure. They also attended the special sessions delivered by Prof. Seemin Rubab, Professor, Department of Physics, NIT Srinagar and Prof. Manzoor A Malik (Dean Academics) wherein the latest developments in physics were discussed. The sessions also highlighted the career prospects in Physics and threw light on the role of physics in combination with other subjects like computer science, mathematics, chemistry, etc.

Prof. Lily Want (Dean Outreach), Prof. Mohammad Akbar Khuroo (Dean School of Sciences), Dr. Niyaz A Rather (Head Department of Physics), Dr. Hashim Rasool (Faculty, Department of Physics) also interacted with the participants.
