NEW DELHI: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday was accorded a ceremonial reception and guard of honour at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday.
He was welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “A special welcome for a special friend!”
Indonesian President Subianto is also scheduled to take part in a wreath-laying ceremony at Rajghat today.
Subianto is a chief guest for the 76th Republic Day celebrations here. He is the fourth president from Indonesia to participate in India’s Republic Day celebrations. The chief guest for India’s first Republic Day was former Indonesian president Sukarno in 1950.
