DC listens to people’s issues
POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M. Choudhary chaired a Public outreach camp today at Fazalabad area of Tehsil Surankote amid participation of hundreds of local residents.
Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Surankote, Rizwan Qureshi and district officers from line departments.
DDC Member Surankote B, Sohail Malik along with many other speakers raised issues pertaining to different departments seeking augmentation of roads, health, school education and power infrastructure.
They sought adequate food civil supplies, completion of Rural development works, expansion of social welfare schemes, further coverage under PMGSY, extension of telecommunication connectivity to Bahir panchayat, early completion of Jal Jeevan Mission projects.
The locals further raised issues pertaining to ICDS, PDD, irrigation and flood control etc which were listened by the officers.
The specific issues raised by DDC Councillor included road connectivity to far flung hamlets like Bahir panchayat, ensuring quality water supply through JJM and other schemes of Jal shakti department. Moreover they demanded establishment of more anganwari centres to cater to the increased need of early childhood care.
Responding to the demands, the DC directed concerned officers to do the needful.
Many issues were redressed on the spot while the Deputy Commissioner Poonch issued instructions to the officers of different departments to resolve all the matters at the earliest. Deputy Commissioner said that organising Public outreach camps is an initiative of J&K Government so that grievances of people can be listened and redressed at their door steps.
Meanwhile People appreciated the efforts of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, all district officers and DDC Member Surankote B, Sohail Malik for organising a public Darbar at Fazalabad to get their issues resolved.
