Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and the security forces in Check Nowgam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday, police said.
A police official said that the gunfight broke out after the police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Chek Nowgam area of the district.
It was not immediately known how many militants were surrounded by the security forces.
