NEW DELHI: Indian cricket head coach and former Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir reportedly received death threats purportedly from ‘ISIS Kashmir’ just a day after the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to official sources, Gambhir received two emails containing the chilling message “I kill you”.
In response, he approached the Delhi Police, filing a formal complaint and requesting enhanced security measures for himself and his family.
The complaint was lodged at Rajender Nagar police station by Gambhir’s private secretary.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (central) M Harsh Vardhan confirmed receiving a complaint regarding threat mail received on an email ID associated with Gambhir. “The matter is being investigated. Gautam Gambhir is already a Delhi Police protectee,” he said.
The police are analysing the source of the email and will take action after a preliminary probe.
