Gal Baat: Mega Interactive Session under SVEEP held at Bandipora

BANDIPORA: The District Administration Bandipora on Monday organized a one-day special interactive session on Electoral Awareness with the theme “Gal Baat/ Katha Batha/ Vichar Vimarsh” as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative at N. M Higher Secondary School Kaloosa, Bandipora.

The programme aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the democratic process and promote active participation among the participants, besides creating awareness and instilling a sense of belief in the democratic process.

The event featured a diverse group of participants, including representatives from GDC Bandipora, GDC Ajas, GDC Hajin, GDC Sumbal, ITI Bandipora, NM BHSS Bandipora, and GHSS Bandipora, who engaged in discussions on various aspects of the electoral process and active civic engagement.

The programme also witnessed the participation of Brand Ambassador SVEEP activities, Padmashree Faisal Ali Dar.

Speaking on the occasion, District Election Officer (DEO), Manzoor Ahmad Qadri highlighted the value of the vote in a democratic setup. He also emphasized the significance of the participation of every eligible citizen in taking an active role in the democratic process.

He stated that today’s programme, ‘Gal Baat,’ an interactive session, was aimed at encouraging civic participation and ensuring an engaged and empowered electorate.

He added that youth are ambassadors of democratic awareness and participation, and efforts are being made to ensure that every eligible voter understands their role in the democratic process and feels empowered to make their voice heard.

The DEO said that SVEEP programmes in Bandipora continue to work towards increasing voter engagement, ensuring a transparent and accessible electoral process for all, and helping participants understand the essence of the poll process and active participation.

Among others, the programme was attended by CEO, Kishore Kumar; DIO, Aadil Manzoor Wani; DyCEO, Dr. G. M. Pujoo, BLOs, first-time voters, students, and others concerned.
