Final meeting for lodgment of accounts held in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: The final account reconciliation meeting for the lodgment of accounts by the candidates, who contested Assembly Election from the four assembly constituencies of Udhampur District, was conducted today.

The meeting was held today here in the DC office Conference under chairmanship of Expenditure Observer V. Vivekananda Reddy.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai alongside other officers, contesting candidates and their election agents.

  A comprehensive scrutiny of the candidates’ election expenditure was conducted. This included reviewing abstract statements, expenditure registers and supporting documents such as receipts, invoices and bank statements.

The objective was to check that all campaign expenses have been complied with legal and ethical standards, thereby promoting transparency in the electoral process.

Additionally, the exercise involved a meticulous comparison of the candidates’ actual spending with shadow expenditure registers.

The Expenditure Observer expressed satisfaction over the accounting procedures followed by the contesting candidates and their agents, noting that the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India had been adhered to.
