FCS&CA-K recovers Rs. 45200 fine from 35 erring shopkeepers, seals 5 Mutton shops

SRINAGAR: The Enforcement squad of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Kashmir (FCS&CA-K) has recovered a penal sum of Rs. 45200 from 35 erring shopkeepers during 16th and 17th of June for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, besides it has also sealed 5 mutton shops.

The Enforcement Squad of the department imposed fines and sealed the shops during market checking drive of various areas of Srinagar City including Ahmad Nagar, Gulab Bagh, Zakura, Nowshara, Lal Bazar, Khonmoh, Dalgate, Sonawar, Batamaloo, Karan Nagar, Rajbagh, Jawahar Nagar, Nowgam, Rawalpora and other areas.

The drive was held under the leadership of Assistant Director Enforcement, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani

During market checking 165 business establishments were inspected.

Meanwhile, during the month of June-2022, an amount of Rs 474250.00 has been collected as fine from 880 erring traders for violating E.C.Act, besides 19 establishments also stand sealed in the entire valley. 

Moreover, the erring lot has been reprimanded to remain careful in future.
