Dr. Farooq, Omar Abdullah condemn grenade attack in Srinagar’s Sunday market

Urge security apparatus to do everything possible to end spurt of attacks at the earliest 

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & CM J&K Omar Abdullah have strongly condemned the grenade attack on Srinagar’s bustling Sunday market. 

In his words of condemnation, Dr. Farooq said, “The recent surge of violence in the Valley is truly devastating and completely intolerable. The grenade attack on innocent shoppers at Srinagar’s bustling ‘Sunday Market’ today serves as a stark reminder of the tragic consequences of these mindless acts. Targeting civilians is never justifiable, and those responsible for these cowardly attacks must be held accountable. The security forces must ramp up their efforts to bring back peace and ensure that the people of Jammu and Kashmir can live without the constant threat of fear and violence. It is imperative that concrete actions are taken and unwavering determination is shown to safeguard our citizens.”

Condemning the attack, Omar said, “The last few days have been dominated by headlines of attacks & encounters in parts of the valley. Today’s news of a grenade attack on innocent shoppers at the ‘Sunday market’ in Srinagar is deeply disturbing. There can be no justification for targeting innocent civilians. The security apparatus must do everything possible to end this spurt of attacks at the earliest so that people can go about their lives without any fear.”

Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Party MPs Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Mian Altaf Ahmad have also condemned the attack unequivocally.
