DM Jammu reviews status of projects being executed by PWD

JAMMU: District Magistrate, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, today chaired a review meeting of the Public Works Department with the participation of senior officers from the department.

During the meeting, District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya underscored the paramount importance of connectivity for Jammu, emphasising its status as a significant and thriving city with substantial potential for development. He stressed the executing agencies to receive ground-level support from the offices of the concerned Sub Divisional Magistrates, ensuring the expeditious execution of the projects.

He also assured full support of the district administration to facilitate the execution of various projects.

Referring to the issue of potholes, the District Magistrate asked for prompt repair and renovation of roads. He emphasised a firm deadline of September end for the elimination of potholes throughout the city, with the expectation that Jammu would be virtually pothole-free by that time. The DM also called for timely status reports on the progress of these efforts.

Furthermore, District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya called upon the Public Works Department officers to take a proactive and forthcoming approach in their work, focusing on efficient execution. The meeting also included individual reviews of projects, including bridges, funded by NABARD, CRF etc.

Additionally, the District Magistrate urged the timely completion of languishing projects.

Those present at the meeting also included Additional District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Chander; ACR, Piyush Dhotra and AD Planning, Satish Sharma besides other officers.
