Reviews progress of works undertaken for development of holy Shrine

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Chairman, Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, Ramesh Kumar, today discussed the preparations being made for upcoming Maha Shivratri Mela at Shri Shiv khori Shrine, Ransoo, Reasi.

The Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the status of physical and financial progress of the works undertaken for the development of the Shrine and providing better facilities to the devotees.

The meeting was attended by Director Tourism, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, officials from BRO, JSW and concerned, in person and through virtual mode.

During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner took a comparative review of the year-wise and month-wise figures of devotees who paid obeisance at the holy shrine and the arrangements made last year.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner Reasi to make adequate arrangements for theĀ Maha Shivratri Mela 2025, providing fulfilling and spiritual experience to the visiting devotees during the religious event.

Directions were issued to focus on adequate logistics and creating the right atmosphere with proper illumination, maintenance of tracks, sanitation, sitting spaces, water, power supply and queue management system.

The meeting also discussed the required arrangements for Shobha Yatra, Bhajan Sandhya and other religious activities, besides other necessary arrangements along the track for comfortable pilgrimage of the devotees.

The Divisional Commissioner also took stock of the to date status of different development works at holy Shrine viz. construction of public utilities, Ghats, food kiosks, rain shelter and helipad at Shiv Khori and Katra.
